Jerusalem String Quartet

  October 9, 2011
                        Johnson Auditorium

The Jerusalem Quartet, Israel’s leading string quartet, has performed in major venues throughout the world and has an extensive discography on the Harmonia Mundi label. The group’s recording of Haydn String Quartets, Volume 2, was the top pick in the chamber music category at the 2010 BBC Music Magazine Awards.
The Jerusalem Quartet is grateful to Daniel Barenboim, who generously loans to the group’s cellist, Kyril Zlotnikov, the ‘Sergio Peresson’ cello that had formerly belonged to Jacqueline du Pré.

“Superlatives are inadequate in describing just how fine this playing was from one of the young, yet great quartets of our time.” – Strad Magazine, 2009
